The widely spread problem that is affecting the health of the youth is drug addiction. Drug addiction is a very damaging pathological problem in which, a person becomes dependant on a drug, and his internal defence system fails, which is generally diagnosed through the body fluids.

A person dependant on drugs gets addicted passing through three different stages. At the first stage, he just takes drug as and when the feel the urge. This drug intake becomes a regular routine, which passes on to the second stage where a person gets satisfaction from the regular dose of the drug. In this way, the drug intake increases, taking the addict to stage three at which, he surpasses the level of intoxication, and loses interest in his life and the surroundings, his tolerance level decreases and he seems to become an introvert.

To counter the increasing number of people who suffer from drug addiction, a number of rehabilitation centres have opened up to allow easy access to individuals who are in dire need of detoxification. For a more peaceful, and mood-lifting atmosphere, most of the residential rehab centres are built close to nature such as mountainous areas, near beaches, or on a ranch.

The residential rehab centres design their treatment policies based on the type of drugs, and on the level, and intensity of intoxication. All the patients and their activities at the residential rehab centres are taken care for by highly trained staff. Every patient has a set timetable for various activities during the day, and he must follow this schedule of sleeping, eating, attending therapy meeting, and getting psychiatric and therapeutic sessions.

There is strict prohibition regarding the consumption of alcohol, and drugs, and they make sure that nobody does so. The patients receive the psychiatric treatment that their psychiatrist has told. In order to help them, and encourage them to have confidence to get back to the normal life, they are allowed to have visits from friends, and family in the fixed time, which helps in the healing process.

Normally all rehabilitation centres contain the luxuries of life, they have places for indoor games and gyms, well equipped suites, Jacuzzi, personal chefs, and all other such facilities that not only helps motivating the patients, but also helps to clear their road to rehabilitation. These residential rehab centres have all the comforts, trained personnel, and experienced professional physicians, and psychiatrists, but all this comes with a cost and therefore they are quite expensive.

All the money that you put into a residential rehab centre does not go to waste, because the package also contains the out-patient therapy sessions, which are given after the patient is discharged from the rehab centre. Mostly, the results of the treatment at residential rehab centre are very positive, as they have helped in getting people off the drugs and addictions for the rest of their lives and helped them in getting rid of the impurities. The residential rehab centres does not stand any lousy behaviour on the part of any patient regarding treatment, and it definitely does not stand any alcohol consumption. They should be free of alcohol, and completely sober. At the time of admittance to the rehab centre, they sign a contract that they would have to leave the rehab centre if they are found to be consuming alcohol.

The initial stage of quitting drugs is quite stressful fro the patients so they are given medicines to cope with it. Once that stage passes the proper rehabilitation process starts, which includes different types of therapies. One of such therapies is the spiritual healing therapy, which is part of the twelve-step recovery method, which is quite renowned and used by most of the residential rehab centres.
